Friday!!

Friday where have you been?...I guess I could ask that about spring as well. Today is beautiful but nippy. The yard was calling. I worked for an hour and a half and filled a garbage can with leaves and old dead stuff. Yard still looks bad so maybe tomorrow after the stuff has settled in the garbage I will do another hour.

Hopefully spring is here to stay and it will warm up.  I can stand the rain as long as the sun shines and things get warmer:)

Cleaning Day

I am so glad that the maid showed up today...however she is pooped (and sore since she is also the painter and boy the celling is making her arms hurt).

Spring Projects....

So I have selected a few projects that I would like to have done by the end of May....Paint the loft...yes, it needs it. I thought I could get by with it the way it was, but it is bugging me. After I paint I can rearrange the layout. We have been living with my arraignment idea for almost a year and now I know what I really want....and I need to include a play space for the grand kids.
The Basement family room ....Paint, re purpose and decorate. I have decided that this would make a great home theatre space......Yes I am being real. After seeing Laurie's mom and dad's home theatre I know that my space would make a great one....I have even found a few items to hang on the walls already....now for the paint, curtains, seating and oh ya, a screen and projector.....This project will take longer than May but hay, I can being and paint.
I guess I am glad that I got so much done last week, now I can really move forward.

Habit?

This has to be the looongest weeeeek of my life! It might as well be Thursday of next week in regards to time....I mean being home all day deep cleaning the this, that and the other spots of my home is making me feel like I am moving underwater, in slow-mo....it is killing me. I won't do well if ever I am left all alone....I mean like no one is ever coming home and sharing the house with me ever again.....
For some reason I feel a need to be productive if everyone else is out at work of off on vacy, and I am left alone. So I have been getting into a few long neglected projects and actually getting them done because I am not interrupted with folks inviting me to go here and there with them, or stopping me and telling me about their day....I miss it..... (my usually interrupters are busy with spring break right now.....working all day or gone away with family). Thank heavens for L & R's short visit...I loved the interruption even though it was short...it was defiantly sweet!
Hello, I can only do so many home projects....not, it is never ending.....anyway back to another closet.....so far two down and bags, and bags of DI donations and garbage out I still have a day left this week with tons calling me.........arrgh I have got to stop this or it will turn in to a habit.

Spring Cleaning

Spring is full upon us. It is my second favorite season. I like it because of the smells and the friendly weather, or to put it like the girl in the movie "Miss Congeniality" when asked "What is your favorite date?" Her reply: "April 16, it's not too hot or cold you can wear a light jacket."

So it is light jacket weather, at least in the mornings and evenings. I don't like spring becasue it is time to clean, clean, clean.......i know, I have to clean now because come summer it is too hot and I get too distracted.

I supposedly have been cleaning for months now....I have but I haven't finished ...I am too distracted, and now I only have 3 more weeks to finish my projects, and then Hayden will be out of school....the start of summer......I will want to play not work....I hate being a grown up, especially in the summer.

The Spring cleaning projects left on my list aren't many...just BIG.

1. Complete cleaning the loft and re-paint and decorate it.

2. Yard: Front flower beds, and make back yard nice and livable.

I know the loft has been on going since February.... I am ready to trash it all, but as soon as I do that, Gary will want something that is long gone......I really need to give him a deadline with this clean out project and stick to it. I am going to paint the loft with one dark brown wall and light tan for the other walls. Hayden also has a plan for the arraignment of the loft....a new game room for the pool table, gaming consoles, a TV and couch, craft/sewing room space for Mom, and the family office....does anyone need a large used desk?

As for the yard...it comes around every year.....The front yard flower beds need some reorganization/transplanting, and a lawn barrier/border. All of this will take some muscle and time. The Backyard....I would love it to look like a magazine spread about back yard living....nice furniture, cool umbrellas or canopies, new grill, maybe a rug, and great area lighting. I would also like the flower beds in the back to look fab. The ultimate dream would be to have a swimming pool and all that includes......but out of the neighbors sight, out of my mind so it always falls to the bottom of the list. Wow, a pool would be so nice....I'll keep dreaming.
