Hooray for the New Week

I usually morn for the loss of a weekend. However this week I am glad that that weekend is over and done and a new week has begun....not that I didn't have a great weekend. We had a fun party for Megan, and a wonderful Father's Day BBQ. It was all a lot of work and boy am I sore and tired from the get ready. As I was getting ready I kept telling myself that I am an event/deadline cleaner...unfortunately too true......but because of that fault I did get a lot done. ( Note to self: Plan more events so I will get more done).
This week there are more projects to finish and begin. The Loft is looking fantastic and I mean that in a good way. It is very livable. I need to finish painting the celling beam , which I can now do since all the junk has been moved out....won't happen until the end of the week.....but it needs to happen soon so I can get the rest of the Marcie's crafting/scrap book/sewing/painting, etc.... junk moved up out of the basement and move on to the home theatre.......yeah!

Keep Smiling and Be Happy!

AAARRGGGGGHHHH!

I am like a chicken with my head cut off.....running around blind.......
I am involved in so many projects, but you know how it is on thing leads to another......
The Loft is almost livable again.....crossing my fingers that today is the day. No it is not perfect, the way I have envisioned it, but it will do for now. What i would still like to do ---I wish I could move the pool table a bit, but hey I am just not that strong and even if I could with my luck I would probably not get it centered or mess it up some how....maybe Gary and the boys could move it ? Also I am hoping to put in a big comfy sofa or even a bed with lots of pillows that we use for a couch so the Grand kids will have a fun place to be......
Whatever , the painting is done except for the beam and that will be done next week. I love the color: November Rain form Benjamin Moore. It is a light cement green/gray. It looks like a shadow, and is so peaceful. I kept the celling and base boards white.
I had Jordan come over and help Hayden move the big things around so I could finish.....Gary thinks that it is funny that I moved a couch out of the loft too the bassement so that I could move the one from the basement up to the loft....Hayden spent the day yesterday doing demo of office furniture that was too big to move, that couldn't be taken apart and re-assembled. (I think he liked getting his aggressions out with a hammer).
Busy day ahead.......moving couches, putting things away, throwing stuff out and cleaning up.....
Yesterday morning I said I was only 1 day behind on my plan for the week this morning I know I am now 2 days behind....I don't get it, I worked all day yesterday?!?!?!?!?
So much to do so little time.....I want things done for Meg's party Saturday night. I am so glad I have a dead line or this would drag on for another week.
Question: How come you can just throw things into boxes, but to put the stuff from the boxes away you have to look at every scrap of paper?

Weigh In a day late.....just like my life.

I am down a pound.....Yeah 14 more to go by the first of March or my Birthday....the 26th.
I am not wacky about my weight loss , but ultimately would like to loose another 40 lbs. Why I am so obsessed...not wacky, with this is weird to me. I know that weight loss is a slow go, but for some reason I know if I lost 40 more lbs. I would be at my ultimate....of course I will then need a skin lift and tuck...especially on my upper legs and knees.....
I am enjoying my new found shape....I can actually purchase clothing at in regular stores. It is fun to see a thinner waste.
Now to keep on eating right and exercising.....

I always seem to be a day late and a dollar short. I need to get it together and be more organized. I have two big projects in my home that I am currently focused on....
New Furniture for the Family Room and Painting and Decorating the Loft.....
Yes I began the loft last year, but the help in moving stuff out never happened until it was too late to continue the project...so now I have begun working on it again.
My biggest stumbling block for both projects is the cash.....I wish it grew on trees....I guess I need to go back to work. The next challenge is finding a style I like.....there are so many choices when it comes to sofas....shape, size, upholstery, etc..... also I want a lot of seating, but I am limited by lack of wall space, and the need to move through the room up the stairs or to the outside.....choices, choices, choices.....

No Luck

So the yard got tons of attention and is looking great........the office/loft not so much. We bought a new printer for the office and shopped for bookcases instead. We have till Wednesday.........then Gary is off (I think he planed it this way). The task will then be taken over by Hayden, Megan and myself........nothing will be sacred.

Crossing My Fingers

Yard work for two hours this morning,then.......wait for it...........Gary said "let's work on the office/loft."
I am so excited....not for the back breaking work, but because I might finally get things moving forward again!
Keeping my fingers crossed.....which makes doing most things difficult.

Spring Cleaning

Spring is full upon us. It is my second favorite season. I like it because of the smells and the friendly weather, or to put it like the girl in the movie "Miss Congeniality" when asked "What is your favorite date?" Her reply: "April 16, it's not too hot or cold you can wear a light jacket."

So it is light jacket weather, at least in the mornings and evenings. I don't like spring becasue it is time to clean, clean, clean.......i know, I have to clean now because come summer it is too hot and I get too distracted.

I supposedly have been cleaning for months now....I have but I haven't finished ...I am too distracted, and now I only have 3 more weeks to finish my projects, and then Hayden will be out of school....the start of summer......I will want to play not work....I hate being a grown up, especially in the summer.

The Spring cleaning projects left on my list aren't many...just BIG.

1. Complete cleaning the loft and re-paint and decorate it.

2. Yard: Front flower beds, and make back yard nice and livable.

I know the loft has been on going since February.... I am ready to trash it all, but as soon as I do that, Gary will want something that is long gone......I really need to give him a deadline with this clean out project and stick to it. I am going to paint the loft with one dark brown wall and light tan for the other walls. Hayden also has a plan for the arraignment of the loft....a new game room for the pool table, gaming consoles, a TV and couch, craft/sewing room space for Mom, and the family office....does anyone need a large used desk?

As for the yard...it comes around every year.....The front yard flower beds need some reorganization/transplanting, and a lawn barrier/border. All of this will take some muscle and time. The Backyard....I would love it to look like a magazine spread about back yard living....nice furniture, cool umbrellas or canopies, new grill, maybe a rug, and great area lighting. I would also like the flower beds in the back to look fab. The ultimate dream would be to have a swimming pool and all that includes......but out of the neighbors sight, out of my mind so it always falls to the bottom of the list. Wow, a pool would be so nice....I'll keep dreaming.

Saturday Special

Okay, so my Internet was out for a day. What a disaster....I did everything I could on my end and then called the Internet company who told me nothing was wrong on their end, but will send out a service person between the hours of you have got to be kidding and never. If I didn't have a problem with the service every afternoon and a big problem once a month I would call and cancel the service, but I want a 'professional' to take a look at "there is not a problem."

Enough of my rant...

Spring is back! Have you ever noticed that you begin to sound like a weather man in spring...discussing the highs and lows of the weather? I guess if I didn't want to sound like a weather man I would move to a place that didn't have weather changes...don't like that idea.

Today is loft clean out! Yes, I know I have said it before, but after two plus months waiting for Gary to claim his stuff I have had enough, it has to go today!
Obviously I am putting it of because I am currently blogging...but I will get to it, I have to, I can't take it any more.
So here is the before...what a mess!

Time to roll up my sleeves and dig in. I have Garbage sacks, dust rags and tunes going......... If I'm not out by Monday call 911.
